What the Holy Bible says about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: That being, his mother Mary espoused [engaged] to Joseph (before they came together) she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:18)

And she [Mary] shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife [Mary] and knew her not [she remained a virgin] until she had brought forth her firstborn son, and he called his name Jesus. (Matthew 1:24-25)

And entering into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother; and falling down, they worshipped him [Jesus]; and opening their treasures, they offered him gifts: gold and frankincense and myrrh. (Matthew 2:11)

And he [Joseph, with his family] came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophets, that he [Jesus] shall be called a Nazarene. (Matthew 2:23)

And Jesus, after he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water; and, behold, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him; and, behold, a voice from the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:16-17)

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand. (Matthew 4:17)

Think not that I [Jesus] am come to undo the law or the prophets; I am not come to undo, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall pass from the law until all is fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall undo one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. (Matthew 5:17-19)

Enter ye in at the narrow gate, for the way that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and those who follow it are many; because narrow is the gate, and confined is the way which leads unto life, and there are few that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

But that ye may know that the Son of man [Jesus] has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. (Matthew 9:6)

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick. Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. (Matthew 9:12-13)

Whosoever therefore shall confess me [Jesus] before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in the heavens. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in the heavens. Think not that I have come to introduce peace into the land; I came not to introduce peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:32-34)

He that loves father or mother more than me [Jesus] is not worthy of me, and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. He that finds his life shall lose it, and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 10:37-39)

All things are delivered unto me of my Father, and no one has known the Son [Jesus] but the Father, neither has anyone known the Father except the Son and he unto whom the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:27-30)

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brothers stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brothers? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brothers! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, the same is my brother and sister and mother. (Matthew 12:47-50)

And it came to pass when Jesus had finished all these words, he said unto his disciples, Ye know that after two days is the passover, and the Son of man [Jesus] is betrayed to be crucified. Then the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders of the people assembled together in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and took counsel that they might take Jesus by guile and kill him. (Matthew 26:1-4)

And they crucified him [Jesus] and parted his garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my raiment did they cast lots. And sitting down they watched him there and set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS. (Matthew 27:35-37)

But Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, gave the spirit. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who slept arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many. (Matthew 27:50-53)

And when Joseph had taken the body [of Jesus], he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed. (Matthew 27:59-60)

Pilate said unto them [those who crucified Jesus], Ye have a watch; go your way; make it [the tomb where Joseph laid Jesus] as secure as ye can. So they went and made the sepulchre secure, sealing the stone and setting a watch. (Matthew 27:65-66)

Now well along on the sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first of the sabbaths, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake, for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow; and for fear of him the guards shook and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye, for I know that ye seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there ye shall see him; behold, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy and ran to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, Receive joy. And they came and held him by the feet and worshipped him. Then Jesus said unto them, Be not afraid; go tell my brothers that they may go into Galilee, and there they shall see me. (Matthew 28:1-10)

And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, behold, I am with you always even unto the end of the age. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he [Jesus] went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, Ye men of Galilee, what do ye stand gazing at up into heaven? This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (Acts 1:10-11)

Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, for the times of refreshing of the presence of the Lord are come; who has sent Jesus Christ, who before was preached unto you, whom it is certainly necessary that the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the age began. (Acts 3:19-21)

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree. God has exalted him with his right hand as Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:30-31)

And [the jailer] brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. (Acts 16:30-32)

For all have sinned and are made destitute of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus, the Christ, whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God. (Romans 3:23-25)

Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ, by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God. And not only this, but we even glory in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation works patience. (Romans 5:1-3)

But God increased the price of his charity toward us in that while we were yet sinners the Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any creature shall be able to separate us from the charity of God, which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

For he that is dead died unto sin once, and he that lives, lives unto God. Likewise also reckon yourselves to be truly dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ, Jesus, our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (Romans 6:10-12)

But be clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not listen to the flesh, to fulfil its desires. (Romans 13:14)

But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, that, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:29b-31)

For no one can lay another foundation than that laid, which is Jesus the Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema. Our Lord has come. (1 Corinthians 16:22)

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

But in no wise should I glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (Galatians 6:14)

Immediately after the tribulation of those days [the end times] shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken, and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man [Jesus] in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with great power and glory. And he shall send his angels with a trumpet and a great voice, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)

Therefore be ye also ready; the Son of man [Jesus] is to come [return] in the hour that ye think not. (Matthew 24:44)
